On Thursday I began to tell you the story I call "The Constantly Ascending Joy Factor"; then on Friday I interrupted it to tell you a big story was about to break; then on Saturday I had to further interrupt it because a big story did break; and I would say it was a big, joyous story.
I do not know what kind of play the story of the thwarting of the plot to attack New York's JFK Airport on the anniversary of JFK's assassination is getting in the news media, because except for Internet surfing I am away from television and newspaper news.
My feeling is this event is a bigger event than is being reported, whatever that reportage is,.because the nature of the American news business is to focus on death, and this event was death-prevented.
If the attack had been carried out, and if thousands had died, the news media would be wall to wall with the story for months on end, and would make a fortune in the process, but deaths not taking place is not news.
I am a World War Two kid, and I was following the radio war news avidly when I was four years old, and an event like that which has just taken place, the saving of thousands of lives and untold damage, would have been trumpeted by big headlines in the papers, HUGE AMERICAN VICTORY!
If true, the comparative level of that New York story is this: JAPANESE ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOR THWARTED! Imagine what that would have meant on the front of the New York Times on December 8, 1941. Consider the ships not sunk and the people not killed and the war not nearly as long.
If this story is true, and unfortunately we have to make that proviso because the dictatorship of Republican American Fascism lies to the American people so consistently that truth cannot be expected to come from it, but if this story is true it marks a great victory for American intelligence.
If my saying this seems somehow a reversal on my part, let me make this clear. While I intend to kick the ever-loving crap out of the United States of America for torturing and enslaving me, which I can and will do, I do not like seeing other people do it.
That brings me back to just who I am as depicted in the story I call, The Constantly Ascending Joy Factor, which that big news story interrupted; but let's wait until tomorrow to continue it.
