Something has happened. A line has been crossed. A deadline has been missed. It could be the human being has no option but extinction by 2045.
Bad for Man, yes, but hopeful for this Earth. For what it's worth, I fought the good fight, I made the good try. I knew this in '63, but I tried to undo what I knew; but it wasn't to be, it just wasn't to be.
What was the commission God gave us? To write The Obituary of the World. Not save to the world, no, God did not send us out into that battle, no, God told us to keep this story on the obituary page.
So, there is some taking stock going on here at I.C. News today. Is the story written? Is there no more we can do?
Extinction. That was the word that came in yesterday. No chance left. Extinction of the human race. No chance left.
Well, it knocked us here at I.C. News for a loop, since our whole gearing was in the believing there was still a chance. Such romance, such a dance, but in the end there was no chance.
God clearly told me this in 1972, but no, I had to take a stab at it. What was I to do? Raise my children into extinction, and give them a happy life until the wolf came to the door? What for? It would all have been a lie, hush little baby, you know you were born to die.
So, I have been walking around like a man without a job all day, and I missed my deadline, I can't remember when that happened before.
I asked my Old Pal God what I should do; and God said Face Reality.
But it is a hard, hard truth, Dear Reader, that all humanity is going to die. I've known it since '63, but I hoped that in knowing it was the key to undoing it; but it is still same goddamned hard truth.
